WHY VELVET TOWEL FABRIC?

Velvet (Terry) is a fabric derived from terry cloth. One side is covered with small uncut loops. The other side loops are sheared/cut to make the surface look like smooth and soft velvet or velvet.

Velvet terry is always more expensive than terry cloth even though both have the same quality, weight, structure, density and threads. Because in order to buy a certain weight velvet fabric, it is necessary to buy heavier terry cloth first. It then causes about 20~24% weight loss by cutting closed loops on one side. So, despite being the same weight, velvet fabric costs more than a towel: lost loops and handling cost.
