Virus-Free Prayer Rug
With the opening of mosques for worship during the Covid-19 epidemic, the period of praying in open spaces began. EVTEKS Company in Denizli produced effective prayer rugs against bacteria and viruses. The prayer rugs made of nano-technological fabric can clean bacteria and viruses on them in daylight. The prayer rug, which can be washed in case of contamination, does not lose its feature.
Evteks firm, located in Merkezefendi district of Denizli and attracting attention with its innovative textile products developed in its R&D laboratory, received an international patent for the fabric it named Evolution Of Cotton (EOC).
Due to the increase in demand for the fabric, which has been documented to have antibacterial and antiviral properties with the tests carried out in laboratories abroad, due to the new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19) epidemic, the company started the production of prayer rugs from the fabric it developed with nano composite materials.
It has been reported that there is a high demand from domestic and abroad for prayer rugs produced from fabric that can self-clean in daylight and have antibacterial and antiviral properties.
The Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors and also a lecturer in the Department of Textile and Fashion Design at Haliç University, İsa Dal, stated to the AA correspondent that they have been an export company for nearly 25 years, and that they have turned to R&D and innovation in order to offer different products to their customers in competition with other countries.
Products with technical superiority
Noting that they focus on products that provide comfort in daily use and have technical advantages, Dal said, “The most important of these is the fabric we call EOC. This fabric, which we have an international patent for, is effective against viruses and bacteria, has a late flammability feature, has a water absorbency under 1 second and has It can clean itself. We developed this fabric locally and nationally, with the efforts of Turkish engineers, with Turkish cotton and domestic raw materials.” said.
Noting that they have developed a 100 percent natural fabric using nano composite materials, natural minerals and algae, Dal said that they have transformed this fabric into products for different areas of use.
Stating that they received a very high demand for this fabric and products from home and abroad after the Kovid-19 epidemic, Dal said, “We made prayer rugs from this fabric because there was a great need recently. These prayer rugs are especially hygienic because they are effective against viruses and bacteria and are self-cleaning. It is preferred by sensitive people. We received great demand from the country and especially from the Middle East.” he said.
Drawing attention to the high export potential of EOC fabric, İsa Dal said, “We have exported products such as towels, bathrobes, bed linen, underwear, masks, gloves and overalls that we produce with this fabric to 25 countries. Our goal is to reach 55 countries within a year.” said.
